Meet Emily Huechteman, Principal

Born and raised in Plano, Texas, I attended Plano ISD schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. From a very young age, I wanted to be a teacher, so after graduating from Plano Senior High, I attended the University of North Texas and received my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I began my teaching career in Plano ISD as a 4th-grade teacher and then team leader at Hughston Elementary. I then transitioned to the role of the Campus Instructional Specialist/Dyslexia Specialist at Hughston and received my master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas Woman's University.

The last five years, I have served as the Assistant Principal at Andrews Elementary. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as a school leader where I have felt most fulfilled in my life's work. As an administrator I get to work collaboratively with teachers while remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom! Read more.

Meet Jennifer Wells, Assistant Principal & Campus Behavior Coordinator

This is my 31st year in education. I have served with Plano ISD as an Administrator since 2016. I grew up in Dallas and attended the University of North Texas and TAMU-C where I also completed my master’s degree in education. I am very blessed to have two daughters and two bonus sons. My wonderful husband is also in education as ia middle school teacher in Allen ISD. On the weekends we love spending time with our granddaughter! She is such a joy!

Working with children has always been my dream and I am thrilled to continue my career with the McCall Family. Our mission at McCall is to work together to develop the mind, heart, and character of our students. With teachers, parents, volunteers and students working together, anything is possible. Our school is a cornerstone of our community, and our goal is for everyone to feel welcome and valued. Thank you for joining us on this journey to ensure the success of each of our students.

Spotlight: Deanna Minium, PTA President

Greetings! I’m honored to serve as the PTA President here at McCall for the second year. My name is Deanna Minium and I’m thrilled to be part of a community that values education and collaboration. We have so much in store for the students this year! Which is all possible because of membership payments! Please consider paying the membership fee to support the PTA. Anything extra that your student participates in, is most likely paid for, sponsored or organized by the PTA. We use membership dues to cover these extra costs! With a background in education and a passion for empowering students, parents, and teachers alike, I’ve always been committed to creating positive change. As a parent myself, I understand the importance of fostering a strong partnership between home andschool to provide the best possible experience for our children.I grew up in Tallahassee, FL and The Woodlands, TX. After finishing graduate school, my husband and I settled in Plano, TX right after we had our first son, who is now 12. We also have an 8-year-old and a 4-year-old. We love living in Plano! When I’m not immersed in PTA activities, you might find me enjoying quality time with my family, exploring new books, or finding inspiration in Netflix and taking a nap. Together, let’s make this school year an unforgettable one, filled with growth, learning, and lasting connections. Feel free to reach out and share your thoughts—I’m here to listen and work together for the betterment of our school community.
