Socks for the Sole Drive at McCall
Plano ISD's Socks for the Sole is officially underway!
From October 20 - November 7, students, families and staff across 32 campuses will once again come together for the annual Plano ISD Peer and Assistance Leadership (PAL) Socks for the Sole Drive.
The drive began in 2020 after the Student, Family and Community Services Department discovered that socks are one of the most requested but least donated items for people facing homelessness. Since then, the effort has grown from a small school-based initiative into a district-wide campaign presented by PAL students.
Each year, campuses collect new socks of all sizes to support individuals and families in need. Donations are distributed to local shelters and community organizations across Collin County, providing a simple but meaningful resource that helps keep our neighbors warm and comfortable.
In 2024, the drive collected 9,100 pairs of socks, supporting 13 local organizations. With 32 campuses participating this year, the hope is to make an even greater impact.
